    Actually it completely depends on the attorney. I know a couple of people in my company who changed employers and used the old attorney to file AC21 papers for them! and it is a big employer and a big attorney firm !

    you should use another attorney. How can you go to your employer's attonery(even though he represents you) and ask about taking another job?. Its same as asking your employer.:eek:

    Send in whatever you do have available with a letter explaining why there is nothing more that you have available. While I know many do not like hiring attorneys because they are expensive, an attorney would be able to help you with the cover letter to ensure the best possible outcome from the USCIS.     My check was cashed on 08/31. Based on the receipt numbers on the back of the check, online status shows that receipts were mailed on 08/31, but I haven't received till date. On 10/01, I called customer service and made them create service request. No progress so far. I am planning to call sometime next week and find the status of the service request.

    Is anyone in the similar situation of not receiving the receipts even after check has cashed way back.

    My I140 was approved in Dec 2005 by TSC. The online case status still says it pending. And i just filed my 485 using that 140.

    Thanks for your valuble advice.To the best of my knowledge my company is not a TARP Company.So if my company happens to be a TARP company ,there is a possibility for H-1 renewal denail.otherwise not.Pls correct me.

    We should try for

    1. Either to remove country quota
    or
    2. Re-instate soft quota.

    The above is a long term and final solution.

    Other solutions - allowing to file 485, h1 extension for 3 more years will ease our life while we wait for the green card but the first two would make the wait shorter - do we want to "comfortably" wait longer or get to the end point faster ?

    I am one of those that bounced around from CBSE (0-3rd) then GCSE O Level UK (4-7th) then ICSE (8th-10th) then finally back to CBSE (11-12)..it definitely hurts moving from board to board but kids are resilient and do bounce back.

    However, u might want to consider schools that follow the IB (International Bacclaurate) Program. From what I have heard there are a number of schools in india that follow the IB program.

    When they are in nursery/kindergarden, it definitely does not matter which "board" the school follows because they pretty much learn the same stuff anywhere in the world.

    I think a lof people have the LUD is 08/05/07 for 140 filed in TSC..and everyone takes their guesses. Please post if u r LUD for 140 is 08/05/2007 ;

    Any idea what we are trying to achieve here?

    If you guys thing i am dumb, you are more then welcome to think that, but i am still confused about the thread.

    1) transfer her h1 (she is worried because many companies do not transfer if < 1 year is on h1), and simultaneously file for an H1 extension based on approved 140 from her current job?
    A. While file for her H1 transfer she can ask for 3 years extension based on approved 140

    2) file a new labor and port her PD from the approved 140?
    A. If she has not filed her 485 then she has to start the GC and can port her PD to the new 140

    3) if no to 1 or 2 - is it the end of the road? Can she transfer to H4 (on her husbands H1) and continue to stay here?
    A. 1 and 2 are possible. If she wants she can transfer to H4 as well.

    Argument:
    Due to un-availability of revised bulletin, if NSC approves i485 and issues AP and EAD, they cannot cancel it..as they have not used any visa # at this time ? Am I correct ?

    My lawyers asked me to use the OPT number on all my forms where it asked for A# number of FileNumber ... I did not have a A# number on my I140

    Yes, i got an LUD and mine was approved on 20th August. Mine reached TSC on March 8th.
